With the international friendly / World Cup playoff break firmly done and dusted, we return to our favourite European league and our free tips. It is time to make some money!

We’re now tipping each game, so you can be selective, or do as we do and back the lot of them!

You can also read our game by game review in our EPL Best Odds and Betting Guide section of our glorious website.

Everton v Liverpool
Liverpool have had a great start to the season, and have a terrific record against Everton in recent years. We are tipping Liverpool 2-0 at odds of $13.00.

Arsenal v Southampton
The surprise package of the season, Southampton have only conceded 5 goals all season, which is remarkable. As a unit they look solid and we think can hold off an Arsenal side that revels in possession, but can sometimes be a little toothless in attack. We tip the draw at odds of $4.00.

Fulham v Swansea
Fulham are really struggling, and we can’t see their season getting any better against an excellent Swansea side who at time play some magical football. We can Swansea winning this with ease and are tipping Swansea 3-0 at odds of $21.00.

Hull City v Crystal Palace
Hull are yet to drop a point at home this season, and Palace are yet to gain a point away from home! This should continue this weekend, and we are tipping Hull 2-0 at odds of $8.00.

Newcastle v Norwich
Newcastle will be buoyed by their recent wins against high flying Chelsea and Tottenham and in hosting Norwich they are playing the team with the worst defensive record away from home in the league. It wouldn’t surprise many therefore, given Newcastle’s recent history, if Norwich administer a beating to the Toon, however we don’t think so. We are tipping Newcastle 3-0 at odds of $15.00.

Stoke City v Sunderland
This is going to be a tight game between two teams that struggle to score. Home advantage and the improved footballing prowess of Stoke under Mark Hughes should be enough to see Stoke prevail against Gus Poyet’s new team. We are tipping Stoke 1-0 at odds of $6.50.

West Ham United v Chelsea
Sam Allerdyce must be pulling his hair out. The Hammers are the ultimate Jekyll and Hyde team, battering Spurs at White Hart Lane and yet losing at home to Stoke. One week they play great football, the next seem to revert to long balls punted up to the 87 year old Kevin Nolan. Chelsea themselves have flattered to deceive so far this season, but should win this encounter. We are tipping Chelsea to win 2-1 at odds of $8.00.

Manchester City v Tottenham
With all the focus on United’s struggle at the start of the season, City seem to have gone under the radar when it comes to a shockingly bad start. Whilst they seem incapable of getting a point away from home, even this die hard United fan cannot deny that they look impressive at home. Tottenham should be able to give City a game here, but despite having one of the best squads in the EPL, Spurs will yet again fall short, so we are tipping City 3-1 at great odds of $13.00.

Cardiff City v Manchester United
David Moyes – Difficult start – Not the Team they used to be – 3 wins on the spin – beating Arsenal – United are back. That basically sums up the last 11 weeks of EPL action at Old Trafford. Manchester United should continue with their resurgence and beat a struggling Cardiff side who have lots of backroom problems to deal with. We are tipping United 3-0 at odds of $11.00.

West Brom v Aston Villa
These games are usually draws, well the last 3 have been in any case! Reviewing each teams performances so far this season we can’t see anything other than a draw, albeit one with goals. We are tipping Draw 2-2 at great odds of $15.00.

There you go, fill your boots!

Looking at the games taking place in week 8 of the English Premier League, only a couple leap out at us as great betting games. They are Arsenal v Norwich and Everton v Hull. Our tips therefore are focused on those two games.

Arsenal v Norwich City 01:00 Sunday 20th October 2013

Arsenal are huge favourites for this game at short odds of just $1.30, we are not going to tip that! Looking at Arsenal’s strong start to the season and Norwich’s very poor start, clearly the Gunners are going to win this game.

Our first tip is to back the Draw -2.0 at odds of $4.00. We think Arsenal will win comfortably, but with a tough Champions League game at home to Dortmund just 3 days later, Arsenal are liable to sprint out of the blocks, and then hold Norwich at arms length for the rest of the game.

Our second tip follows naturally, as we tip Arsenal 2-0 at odds of $6.00 and Arsenal 3-1 at odds of $10.00.

Finally, given we believe Arsenal will start the game well, we like the look of the Time of First Goal Scored at Up to and including 23 minutes at odds of $1.94.

Everton v Hull City 01:00 Sunday 20th October 2013

Considering Hull are only 1 place below Everton (and 1 point) the gulf in odds is huge, with Everton installed as $1.44 favourites. This will be a tight game, and backing Draw -1.0 at odds of $3.30 is a sensible bet.

We also recommend backing Draw / Everton at odds of $4.00.

This game does have the potential for an upset, so a very modest saver bet on Hull to win outright at huge odds of $7.50 is worth having.

It’s been an interesting start to EPL season 2013 / 2014. Manchester United have already lost 3, Arsenal looked unbeatable until almost being beaten by West Brom, Tottenham looked like the new Chelsea until getting stuffed at home by West Ham, the old Chelsea don’t have a clue what their best team is and Man City flatter to deceive also. As for Liverpool..

Well as for Liverpool, they have no chance, do they?

Lets take a look at each team’s odds and we’ll recommend where your hard earned / won dollars should be going on.

Manchester City – currently the bookies favourites at stingy odds of $3.20. Whilst City have the best team on paper, they seem a little uncertain of their best starting 11. We can’t see City winning the Premier League this season, and the way they were swept aside by Bayern Munich highlights the huge gulf in class between them and the best teams in Europe. Don’t back City.

Chelsea – second favourites available at $4.00, are more likely to win the EPL than City. True, Mourinho doesn’t really have a reliable strike partnership, however Torres is looking better and with a huge wealth of attacking midfielders (Hazard, Mata, Oscar, Willian, Lampard) at the Special One’s disposal, we can see Chelsea winning the EPL. Back Chelsea.

Arsenal – third favourites at odds of $6.00, largely thanks to their remarkable turn around since the signing of Mesut Ozil. However, it is unlikely that a team can win the EPL based on the performances of just one player, so we think backing Arsenal is not a good bet. There is little point backing them each way, as their odds aren’t big enough for a decent return.

Manchester United – fourth favourites at odds of $7.00. being as ‘short’ as 7.00 when you’ve already lost 3 games is testament to United’s pedigree as winners. No-one would be surprised at all if David Moyes’ men put together a string of results that saw them climb up the table and claim the title. Apart from me that is. Having publically stated that they need 3 or 4 world class players, Moyes seems to be aiming for the 2014 / 2015 season, and United fans can consider this season as a development season. My tip here is to back United to win no trophies at odds of $1.53 (note the Community Shield doesn’t count)

Liverpool – available at odds of $8.00, if you are thinking of backing the Anfield outfit, don’t. True they have started well, however will soon fade and we can’t see them finishing in the top 4. Don’t back Liverpool.

Tottenham – available at odds of $13.00, now this is a bet worth making, albeit an Each Way one. Tottenham have a superb squad, right up their with the likes of City and Chelsea in terms of quality. Putting aside the blip of being Hammered by Sam Allardyce’s team last weekend (see what I did there?) Spurs are a cracking each way bet to win the EPL.

I recently wrote about how there had never been a better time to bet on Manchester United, after their hammering at The Etihad in the small hours of Monday morning, has my opinion changed?

No. In fact if anything my opinion that there has never been a better time to back Manchester United has strengthened, and it is nice to see United drifting so far from odds of $4.00 or $4.50 to $5.50 with Sportsbet. That is a cracking price.

Here is my forecast for the EPL finishing positions come May 2014.

1st – Manchester United. Moyes will have worked out his best starting 11 by mid Oct, and Kagawa will be a regular starter along with Zaha. Young will be dropped to the bench and Tom Cleverly will probably drift out of the squad completely. United will buy a big name in January, possibly Herrera or Barkley or the hotly fancied Julian Draxler. Backing United now at odds of $5.50 is an awesome bet.

2nd – Chelsea. My early season tip to win the Premier League, I actually think Chelsea will finish a close second. Jose still hasn’t a clue what his best team is, and the dropping of Torres (plus the loaning of Lukaku) for a clearly unfit Samuel Eto’o has to rank amongst The Special One’s most bizarre decisions. Eto’o who had the goal getting sharpness drilled out of him at Inter (under Mourinho) in favour of a more defensive role, has basically been on holiday for 2 years in Russia. Chelsea are bet priced at odds of $4.00 with Sportsbet.

3rd – Tottenham. Controversial! Tottenham are building an awesome squad with the oddles of cash they received for Gareth Bale, and I don’t think they are finished spending yet. AVB is still working out his best team, but unlike Jose, is making logical decisions. I can see Spurs rising to the challenge and finishing in the top 3 for the first time for many many years. Available at odds of $4.00 on the handicap betting (Spurs +16) we’ve invested heavily on them.

4th – Manchester City. Whilst City looked like world beaters against Man Utd on Sunday, they were helped by one of the most lacklustre performances United have ever put in…well since City won 6-1 at Old Trafford anyway. Pelligrini will have a hard job keeping his 98 strikers happy and is bound to start tinkering. For every minute Fernandinho spends on the pitch, City should drift a point in the betting, and I simply cannot agree with Sportsbet that they are $2.75 favourites.

5th – Arsenal. Sorry Gooners but despite the resurgence of Aaron Ramsey and the acquisition of the frankly awesome Mesut Ozil Arsenal won’t quite have the good to claim a spot in the Top 4. Which for Gunners fans won’t be a bad thing. A season without Champions League football will undoubtedly see an influx of big name signings as Arsenal (probably not under Wenger) build a new team. I’d be backing a return for Fabregas and possibly for Ian Wright and Dennis Bergkamp….

After the top 5, its anyone’s game, Liverpool and Everton will be up there, as might Newcastle, Villa or frankly anyone. One team that won’t be is Sunderland. With Roberto Di Matteo hot favourite to take over from Di Canio, even at this early stage of the season, I cannot see Sunderland surviving, and their 29 new Italian players had better prepare for life in the Championship.

Most pundits and journalists will tell you that Manchester United will win nothing this season, have had a poor transfer window, that David Moyes is no Sir Alex and so on. However, this writer is having none of it. In the style of Rafa Benitez, lets look at the facts:

Manchester United have had a poor start to the EPL: Not true. United have claimed exactly the same number of points from their opening 4 fixtures as Manchester City and Chelsea, and they have had a far tougher start. Indeed even with that tough start, United’s goal difference is better than Chelsea’s.

Manchester United’s odds reflect the fact that they are unfancied to win the EPL: That’s clearly what the bookmakers think, pricing them up at $4.20 (in from $4.50) making them third favourites behind City and Chelsea, however, as mentioned above nothing separates them from their rivals, and they’ve had a tougher start. $4.20 is great value and should be snapped up, before it drops further.

United had a poor transfer window: Moyes admits is wasn’t United’s best transfer window, but United had two primary targets, Fellaini and Baines. They got one and missed out on the other. Hardly poor. As for stories of Ozil / Erikson / Thiago etc, most journalists are glossing over the fact that al 3 players were offered to United and United chose not to pursue them. Maybe Moyes will be proved wrong however, if the club choses it doesn’t want to sign someone, that doesn’t make the transfer window unsuccessful. After all it wouldn’t be the first time United stopped pursuing a player and ended up being proved wrong…Bale….Ramsey….Zidane…. etc.

Moyes is no Fergie: Correct, of course he isn’t, but to label him / United doomed to failure because they didn’t sign a left back with a 1980s haircut, or because they chose not to sign a little German with eyes bigger than his head, is wrong. As mentioned before Lord Ferg made many errors in the transfer market, which tend to get forgotten. Kleberson. Djemba Djemba. Bellion. Blanc. Taibi. Milne. Manucho. Dong Fangzhou. etc. Similarly pundits are saying that because a Lord Ferg team would have scored 4 or 5 against Palace, and Moyes’ team only managed two, both from set pieces, it shows him to be a failure. What nonsense. United often ground out routine 2-0 victories against lowly teams under Ferg. Fact.

So after dispelling those myths we can turn to the minor business of Manchester City vs Manchester United (Monday 23rd Sept 01:00am) Sportsbet price the game up thus: Man City – $2.20, Draw – $3.40, Man Utd – $3.00. Rarely will you get a chance to get $3.00 on United, and with City also toiling under a new manager trying to find his best starting XI out of the 48 international players at his disposal, United’s settled and more gelled team should prove too strong for City. For one, I thin United will win this one comfortably, and will be having a little flutter on Man Utd 2-0 at excellent odds of $17.00, in addition to piling into United at odds of $3.00 to win the game.

Liverpool, courtesy of 3 Daniel Sturridge generated 1-0 victories top the EPL for the first time in many years. Clearly they aren’t good enough to stay there for long, but will they be top after week 4?

Here are our top 5 tips for this week. You can read our full list of tips on our fabulous EPL Week 4 Odds page

Sunday 15th September 00:00

Stoke City v Manchester City

Stoke are only a couple of places below Man City and are a huge price of $6.00 and we think that is a great price that we are diving right into.

Sunderland v Arsenal

Arsenal will batter Sunderland, it will be a minor miracle if Sunderland get more than 30% possession. We are tipping Arsenal 3-0 at super odds of $12.00

Tottenham v Norwich

There is no value in backing Spurs at odds of $1.44, but the way Norwich play and the fact that Spurs haven’t exactly looked like a team yet, we fancy Norwich to win at lovely odds of $7.50

Monday 16th September 02:30

Everton v Chelsea

No Fellaini + Unable to play Lukaku = Everton getting easily beaten. Its Chelsea 2-0 for us at attractive odds of $10.00.

And finally….

Tuesday 17th September 05:00

Swansea v Liverpool

Liverpool will be too strong for a struggling Swansea and will win this game. Better than even money odds of $2.15 need taking….it pains me to say….

With 3 games gone of the new 2013 / 2014 EPL season, one outstanding bet leaps from the virtual pages of the bookmaker websites. Back Chelsea to win the 2013 / 2014 EPL…

Currently Chelsea are 2nd favourites behind market leaders Manchester City. This is baffling, and here’s why.

1. Chelsea sit 1 point ahead of Man City in the table already, having had a tougher start (2 away games, inc Villa and United, Vs City’s 2 home games against whipping boys Newcastle and Hull)
2. Jose Mourinho has been there before and won 2 x EPL titles. That counts for an extra 3 points over season over Pelligrini.
3. Chelsea have solved their striking crisis, not by bringing in Wayne Rooney, but be recruiting arguably the best striker in European football over the last 5 years, Samuel Eto’o, on a free transfer!
4. Chelsea have bought better than Man City over the last 2 years. Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Scurrle, Eto’o Vs Negredo, Jotivic, Navas and that useless article Fernandinho.
5. Fernandinho. You may think I am being cruel by blaming him twice, but City paid £30m ($55m) for the player so will play him a lot, and his presence unbalances the City midfield. Ya Ya Toure is forced to play further back, there are fewer cutting passes through the middle of the pitch and Fernandinho gives the ball away a lot.

With Sportsbet offering Chelsea odds of $3.00, and City being offered at $2.88, the smart money lands on Chelsea every time.

Luis Suarez has told two British newspapers that Liverpool promised to let him leave this closed season if the Reds failed to qualify for the Champions League (they didn’t, finishing a rubbish 7th), and it is Liverpool not Luis who are to blame for the current situation. What a way to thank the club that stayed loyal to him after Evra-Gate and Bitey-Man-Gate.

There are definitely two sides to Luis Suarez. There is no denying the player’s ability, scoring 81 goals in 110 games for Ajax before the big money move to Liverpool where is has scored 38 goals in 77 games. He’s also scored and undeniably world class 35 goals on 68 games for Uruguay. That’s a great record. However, he has also missed 25% of all Liverpool games through suspension. Twenty five percent!

The racism incident with Patrice Evra and Manchester United and Liverpool’s subsequent public support of their player boarded on incredible and threatened to undermine the so called ‘traditional family club’ image Liverpool claim to have, but they supported the player. They also publically supported Suarez when he fancied some Branislav Ivanović arm flesh and took a bite of the Chelsea player.

However in the world according to Luis, it is he who has been poorly treated. It is Luis Suarez who is the victim and Luis Suarez who should be permitted to engineer a move to another club.

How will Liverpool get on with or without Suarez in the team on the opening weekend? Read all about our thoughts with our EPL Odds feature.

Suarez has told The Guardian and the Daily Telegraph that Liverpool “promised” he would be allowed to leave this British summer if they didn’t qualify for Europe. He goes on to add “I gave absolutely everything last season. Now all I want is for Liverpool to honour our agreement,”

The interviews, given to Spanish-based journalists from the two newspapers, include Suarez claiming: “Last year I had the opportunity to move to a big European club and I stayed on the understanding that if we failed to qualify for the Champions League the following season I’d be allowed to go.”

With Arsenal having made two bids, both rejected, I don’t imagine Suarez quite had them in mind when he envisaged leaving. I would think he was more fancying the white of Madrid, or the stripes of Barcelona, than the red and white of Arsenal. But beggars can’t be choosers, and whilst Arsenal are one of Liverpool’s main rivals for the EPT 4th place spot, it would be amusing to see Suarez playing his trade at a club like Arsenal, especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.

Suarez continues his whinge with “I am 26, I need to be playing in the Champions League. I feel I have done enough to be playing in the Champions League at this stage of my career. Now there is an option for me to do that and I want very much to take it,” he said.

“I don’t feel betrayed but the club promised me something a year ago, just as I promised them that I would stay and try everything possible to get us into the Champions League.”

Laughably, doing enough to earn Champions League football includes biting two players (PSV’s Otman Bakkal was the first player to be bitten by “The Cannibal of Ajax”), using racist language towards a fellow professional and diving so often Uruguay are rumoured to be adding him to their springboard rosta for the Rio Olympics.

Personally I hope Liverpool sell Suarez to Arsenal and with a very good Spurs team being put together, one that might soon have another $200m to spend on players, I can see Arsenal really struggling to finish 4th….and how sweet Liverpool’s revenge would be. Not that Liverpool deserve it, they should have shipped out the player after the racism incident, after-all that’s what a proper ‘family’ club would have done.

You can back Arsenal at odds of $2.20 to finish outside the top 4 with bookmaker Sportsbet. This is a decent bet, but offers little value. I think the better value bet is to back Liverpool to finish in the bottom 10 of the EPL at great odds of $18.00

Will he go or will he stay? Our EPL and Major European Transfer watch feature will keep you informed.

A week is a very long time in soccer, or so they say, however a week is clearly not long enough to resolve the ongoing fiasco that is the Luis Suarez transfer saga. Arsenal are understood to have upped their bid to $70million, however the player is so clearly hankering after a move to Real Madrid he is likely to make it hard for Liverpool to sell to their Premier League rivals. Whilst Madrid have remained silent on the Suarez chase, it seems that new Madrid Head Honcho Ancelotti is deciding who stays and who goes. Once he has made up him mind the wheels will start spinning. With Arsenal also linked to Madrid’s Higuain it seems more logical to me that Arsenal will sign Higuain, Madrid will sign Suarez and Liverpool will sign Aston Villa’s Benteke.

Certainly if Liverpool lose Suarez, they have a big goal getting shaped hole to fill and are likely to struggle in the 2013 / 2014 season. Liverpool are priced at odds of $18.00 to finish in the bottom half of the Premier League table next season. I think this is great value.

Manchester City are rumoured to be close to bringing Swedish Title magnet Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the Etihad. Ibrahimovich has a terrific record of winning titles, having won 9 titles at 6 clubs over 10 years in a run that goes: Ajax (2004), Juventus (2005), Juventus (2006), Internazionale (2007), Internazionale (2008), Internazionale (2009), Barcelona (2010), AC Milan (2011), Paris St-Germain (2013). A cut priced $28m price tag has been slapped on his head following PSG’s signing of Edinson Cavani from Napoli, and it seems Laurent Blance can’t get rid of Ibra quick enough. City are also in the running to sign Sevilla’s Alvaro Negredo and / or Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic in deals thought to be totalling $100m.

City are keenly priced at $3.10 to win the 2014 EPL, and with the amount of money they have already spent, plus the possible creation of an Aguero/Ibrahimovic/Negredo/Jovetic front line, represents a huge price and great value for money.

On the other side of Manchester, it seems like Manchester United are switching attention to trying to sign Cesc Fabregas from Barcelona as long time target Thiago Alcantara is on the verge of a move to Bayern Munich. To be honest I can’t see Barca letting both Thiago and Fabregas leave, that would leave them with an aging midfield, unless they have some targets up their sleeves. With Real Madrid already very active in the transfer market and all the news about Barcelona seemingly about losing players (David Villa, Thiago, Fabregas etc), this is one rumour that is just paper talk.

United are more likely to look to Germany to recruit some central midfield creativity, with Dortmund’s playmaker Marco Reus the likely target.

Alcantara’s imminent arrival at Bayern ushers another talented midfielder towards the exit sign. Xherdan Shaqiri is thought to be a target for Liverpool, in their desperate attempt to break into the Top 4. Liverpool have also confirmed that they have offered Steven Gerrard (86) a new 2 year contract. “Can Gerrard play on into his late 30s? Absolutely, no question about that” quoted Brendan Rogers “There will always be a need at Anfield for a player capable of pinging a football diagonally across a football pitch into the advertising hoardings” he didn’t add.

Here is a quick summary of other gossip and rumours:

PSG want Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic in a deal that simply won’t happen.
QPR and Brazil main stopping man and horrendous spelling mistake Julio Cesar is going to Napoli on loan in a deal that very much will happen.
Newcastle want to sign Aston Villa’s Darren Bent in a $10m deal once Alan Pardew and Joe Kinnear decide whose Mont Blanc they are supposed to use.
Manchester City’s Pablo Zabeleta is on his way to Fiorentina in a deal which will leave the Premier League with one fewer players who sound like a nice coffee base Italian dessert.

Manchester United target Robert Lewandowski appears to finally be on the brink of a move to Bayern Munich which leaves new manager David Moyes short of a new striker, especially with Edinson Cavani seemingly moving to PSG. Step in…. Wayne Rooney. Rooney was once the hottest prospect in world football, and whilst scoring some spectacularly critical goals (overhead kick against Manchester City anyone?), and setting up some superb Robin Van Persie strikes in a seemingly blossoming strike partnership (40 yard pass for outside the box volley against Aston Villa anyone?) his star seems to have ‘Wayned’. Rooney is the ideal front man for United and is available for as little as…hang on…. The story here is what we have been reporting for the last month. Rooney is going nowhere and will be central to Davis Moyes’ plans. True, if Sir Alex Ferguson had remained at the helm, Rooney would be off quicker than a stilton cheese on a summer’s day, however he isn’t and Rooney will remain at Old Trafford. Forget Cavani and Lewandowdowskiski, forget Benteke (exactly) and Torres, United have their ideal strike partner for RVP, and he goes by the name of Wayne Rooney.

Rooney can be backed at odds of $15.00 to finish as EPL top scorer, this is great value.

As previously reported, long time Chelsea target Edinson Cavani has decided he prefers the fluttering eyelids of Laurent Blanc to the romantic gestures of Jose Mourinho and has opted for a move to Even-Richer-Than-Chelsea-Paris-St-Germain (ERTCPSG). The fact that PSG have seemingly met Napoli’s $180m buy out clause might be another reason to move the Paris than London. So Chelsea have switch attention to 22 year old Christian Benteke for Aston Villa. Benteke joined Villa from Genk for $14m on a 4 year deal only last season, and finished with an impressive 19 EPL goals. It is understood the giant Belgian has handed in a transfer request and Chelsea is his most likely destination for c. $45m. A snip.

Chelsea are currently joint second favourites to win the 2013 EPL outright at odds of $3.10

Or / and Chelsea are lining up an $80m bid for Liverpool’s bite happy want away forward Luis Suarez. Suarez who believes the UK press is hounding him plans to solve the problem by moving from Liverpool to Madrid or Paris or seemingly London where it believed he has briefed his agent that a move to Chelsea would suffice. Yes that’s right Luis, you won’t get any press coverage in London, at a club that has had more than it’s fair share of racism and player behaviour problems. Suarez will at least feel at home playing alongside John Terry, John Terry, Eden Hazard and John Terry.

Quick round up of the rest of the gossip, along with our forecast as to whether it is likely to happen or not.

Manchester United will return with a slightly larger bid and secure the signature of Everton’s Leighton Baines, yawn. This is going to happen, fact.

Patrice Evra will get all shirty and leave United as a result of his place being put under threat, with Real Madrid, ERTCPSG or Monaco his destination. This will happen, he is a moody little fella and will probably end up back at money bags Monaco.

Real Madrid chief quote issuer Florentino Perez has stated that Cristiano Ronaldo will retire at Real Madrid, either Ronaldo needs to look out for flying tackles in training, or Perez believes the sunshine/world’s biggest club/$500,000 per week/working with Zidane formula is right for CR7. He is going nowhere, this season at least.

Barcelona have been told to do one by Barcelona fan Jose Mourinho when they came asking if David Luiz fancied playing out. Of all the clubs in all the world, the least likely Chelsea are to sell to is Barcelona. Conclusion: David Luiz is staying put.

The superbly named Julian (not that bit) Draxler (that bit) lately seen bossing the Schalke midfield is coming to the EPL with Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal (last resort on his behalf surely) fighting it out for his signature. Our verdict is a move is on the cards, and Draxler will be pulling on a blue shirt next season. Whether it is sky or darkish, we don’t know.

Little known, bit part Spurs player Gareth Bale is not going to Real Madrid. At least that is according to the aforementioned Madrid boss Florentino Perez who claims they have no interest in signing a really good player from a team they have a good relationship with. Hold on. Spurs and Real Madrid have a good relationship do they? Ok. Modric. I think Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has cocked this up. For all his blustering about not selling Bale at any price, and world record fees of $190m being bandied about, he has just talked himself and his club out of a monster pay day. Never mind that Bale is Spurs and they are a truly one man team. $190m buys you a good 4 or 5 players you need to play alongside new signing Paulinho to make the team very good indeed. Verdict. Bale to move to Manchester City or PSG on the last day of the transfer window for $100m as Spurs get desperate for the green backs.

And finally…the biggest news of the week is surely Usain Bolt to play for Manchester United. Bolt is tipped to turn out for his beloved reds in Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial against Sevilla on August 9th. That should be quite some wing speed. Hopefully he will be able to control the ball better than United’s last ‘super-fast-next-big-thing-flying-winger’ David Bellion…..
