Home advantage has just edged the New Zealand Warriors into favouritism to win the 2016 Auckland Nines at $4.00 with Sportsbet

Next in the betting come the well fancied Cronulla Sharks at $7.50, and last year’s beaten Grand Finalists the Brisbane Broncos at $9.00

Rank outsiders for the tournament are the Canterbury Bulldogs and the Melbourne Storm, neither of whom will be taking the games as seriously as the market leaders.

Crowds and viewing figures were well above forecasted in 2015, and the tournament is now beginning to establish itself as a fixture in the yearly NRL calendar.

The final countdown is on for the State of Origin Decider. Paul Gallen is out through injury, but it could be that NSW are a more balanced side without him, and with some fresh, strong young legs in there, too. Certainly, there will be men in blue with a point to prove going into what could be the most exciting series decider in a long time.

But where are you betting? We’ve seen a few tempting odds beyond the head-to-head, which are $2.45 for the Blues, and $1.57 for Queensland. All the signs are pointing to a close game, and you’ll get $3.10 for NSW to take it by 12 points of fewer, and $2.60 for the Maroons to win by the same margin. Thurston is favourite to be Man of the Match at $5.50, with Robbie Farah at $6.00. Greg Inglis hasn’t had the impact on the series that many predicted he would before the first game – could it be his contribution that sways it on Wednesday? He’s at $11.00 to be Man of the Match…
