NRL betting odds favour the Storm after whirlwind victory
Posted on September 28th 2009 by Pom de Turf
Melbourne Storm are on 1.67 for the NRL premiership title after booking their place in the grand final with a Saturday night victory over Brisbane Broncos.
The Storm won by 40-10 at the Etihad Stadium in a result which quickly saw them become favourites to beat Parramatta Eels in the weekend's crunch showdown.
Melbourne dominated the match throughout on Saturday and scored seven tries to just two from the Broncos.
The Eels are the relative outsiders for the final, on 2.46 with Betfair.
After Saturday's game Storm coach Craig Bellamy hailed the side's achievement of reaching four grand finals in a row.
He said: "To get to these is a really hard thing to do, and winning is harder again. Four grand finals is great, but at the end of the day we want to go out and play well on Sunday night -- that's our focus."
Winning on Sunday would go along way to cementing Melbourne's claim to be one of the greatest rugby league sides in history, perhaps on a par with the Parrmatta team of the '80s.
Betfair is also already taking bets on who will be the NRL Premiers in 2010, offering 4.20 on Parramatta and 6.00 on Melbourne Storm.
Brisbane Broncos are on 8.00 to bounce back and win the title next year with the same bookmaker.
