Rugby league betting to focus on Bulldogs' minor premiership battle
Posted on September 2nd 2009 by Pom de Turf
A minor premiership victory awaits the Bulldogs if they can overturn the Wests Tigers in Friday night's NRL clash - with the away side odds-on with many bookmakers.
The table-topping Bulldogs would have faced a potentially bone-crunching task had Wests Tigers pulled off a victory to keep their finals hopes alive last week, but defeat against The Titans took the wind out of their sails.
However, the home side will be looking to give their fans something to cheer about before the end of the season against the marauding Bulldogs.
The NRL betting market at Canbet has the Wests Tigers at 2.62 for the win and 1.48 for the Bulldogs.
The home team are at 4.00 to win by a 1 to 12 margin, while the Bulldogs are at 3.10 to clinch victory by the same margin.
Bulldogs halfback Brett Kimmorley is out with a facial injury for two weeks - meaning the home side do have a chance of spoiling the Bulldogs' minor premiership party.
And NRL.com predicted that while the Bulldogs should be good enough to get the win they could be "rudderless" without Kimmorley.
The site adds that the Wests Tigers could also "easily win" if they turn up to compete and start to produce the goods.
