Wallabies romp home with resounding victory over Wales

A number of online bookmakers are already taking bets for the 2011 World
Cup, and early bird punters will have had an eye on the tourists over
the last few weeks.

The Wallabies looked strong on the attack all the way through the match,
and this promise was realised with a 33-12 victory at weekend.
Wales suffered somewhat. With some injuries for Shane Williams and Leigh
Halfpenny, this did not help their cause.

The players Australia fielded were impressive, with Matt Giteau and Will
Genia proving particularly effective on Sunday. There was a flurry of scoring
at the very start of the match, and this was felt in the crowd, who were relatively
silent for much of the opening stages of the clash.

Wales are sixth in the World rankings, and this defeat will be a huge
upset to the side.

The World Cup is two years away, but this performance against Australia
should prove to be very informative for the management of the Welsh
side, who will surely understand that they have a lot of work to do
before 2011.

Online betting portal Sportsbet offers Australia at 7.00 to win the 2011
World Cup, while they give Wales 21.00.
