Titans could be aided in NRL betting odds by injury returns
Posted on September 11th 2009 by Pom de Turf
The return from injury of two players could aid the Gold Coast Titans as they go into their Saturday night NRL finals clash with the Broncos.
Titans are welcoming back interchange forward Brad Meyers and centre Brett Delaney after hand and hamstring problems respectively.
The titans could need all the help they can get at Skilled Park, as according to bookmakers they are the outsiders.
IASbet has them down at 2.48 in the NRL betting, compared to 1.57 for the Broncos.
However, the Titans beat the Broncos 34 to 18 in their last meeting in round 20 of the regular season.
But the Titans also fall short in terms of experience at this stage, being finals new boys.
Coach John Cartwright, quoted by the Courier Mail, said: "Everyone has written us off - apparently we're here to make up the numbers.
"I felt pretty p***** off actually that nobody down there (in Sydney) gives us a chance.
"I'm not sure anyone up here (in Queensland) gives us a chance either.
"We're going to be very aware of that when we go out and play on Saturday."
IASbet is also offering 5.85 for The Titans to clinch victory by more than 13 points, and 2.80 for the Broncos to win by the same margin.
