Footy betting for the AFL semi finals could be influenced by the cautious approach the Western Buldogs are taking ahead of their Friday clash with Brisbane Lions.

The Dogs' coaching staff have said the final line-up will be decided by a last training session at the MCG today, with several players under pressure to prove form and fitness.

Going into tomorrow night's clash, the Bulldogs are the clear favourites with Canbet on 1.26, with Brisbane on 4.00.

Quoted by the club's official website, football manager James Fantasia said: "It has been something to really chew over this week. There is no shying away from the fact.

"There may be one or two changes or there might not be any changes - that is how close it will be."

Among those vying for a place is forward Robert Murphy, who has been struggling with a knee problem and has needed injections to get through matches.

Meanwhile, Brisbane have been talking up their level of comfort in the MCG, the venue where they clinched three straight premierships.

Quoted by the Brisbane Times and AAP, coach Michael Voss, said: "It's certainly great to be back here playing finals football and it's good to be able to be on the great stage again."
