Saturday , June 19

Weekend previews and betting tips:
The good news for AFL teams this week is that Geelong aren't playing, so someone else has a chance to shine. The current AFL favourites thumped Essendon and look pretty much unstoppable at the moment, and all AFL fans are waiting with baited breath for the big re-match next Friday night vs St Kilda at The MCG.

A full preview of that game will appear nearer the time, but for now we focus on this weekend's 5 matches, all of which feature a strong favourite. Hawthorn look to be improving, Essendon look to be fading, so we're happy to take the $1.55 with Sportsbet for the home team to build on last week's mauling of Adelaide.

Bookies are taking a big chance by making Carlton such a short price at home to Fremantle. The latter were put away at home by The Saints last week whilst Carlton slumped to a shock loss at North Melbourne. Both sides can be inconsistent, but with Carlton above Fremantle in the ladder, there prices look wrong. Take Fremantle +7.5 points on the handicap spread with Centrebet.

Brisbane v Richmond is a game which catches the eye from a betting purpose and we have a big view on this match. Brisbane are in freefall, all early season hopes vanquished by a wretched set of recent performances. Richmond were nailed on for the wooden spoon for the first quarter of the season, but not anymore, as proved last week when they beat scored 126 points against West Coast. This game should be a coin toss - but Centrebet are offering Richmond PLUS 17.5 points on the handicap at odds of $1.91 - this is the bet of the week.

The other 2 games should go to form and with the odds, and if you must have a bet, double up North Melbourne and The Western Bulldogs for some Sunday afternoon entertainment. But for the serious punter, get to Centrebet and back Richmond + 17.5 points!
