AJC Derby

The AJC Australian Derby is a classic Group 1 race for 3 year old racehorses which takes place each April. The race is a key feature of the Sydney Autumn Carnival at Randwick Racecourse.

The race is ran over 2400 metres and the prize money is nearly $1.5M.

Previously known as the AJC Randwick Derby Stakes, the name was changed way back in 1865, to now be known as the AJC Australian Derby. Phar Lap remains the most illustrious winner of the race
