The Western Bulldogs could be reaping the rewards of a tough pre-season regime as they battle through the AFL finals.

Forward Shaun Higgins has said he thinks the work put in with former international triathlon coach Bill Davoren has paid off and influenced the fitness of the side as a whole.

They go into Friday's week three finals clash with St Kilda on odds of 3.17 for the win with Centrebet, compared to 1.36 for St Kilda with the same bookmaker.

Speaking on Western Bulldogs' official website, Higgins said: "Throughout the year, we showed that going into last quarters, we were running them out well.

"You do all that pre-season training and all the home-and-away games to get into the situation we've got ourselves in now with playing in a preliminary final."

The winner of the MCG clash on Friday will take on Geelong or Collingwood in the decider the week after.

Centrebet is also offering AFL betting odds on who racks up the highest score in the preliminary finals, with Geelong on 2.55 to achieve this marker, ahead of St Kilda on 2.65.

The same bookmaker is offering 12.00 for St Kilda versus the Bulldogs to throw up zero to 18 goals in total, or 10.00 for over 34 goals.
