Destiny beckons for Norman Robinson Stakes winner
Posted on October 16th 2009 by
Connections of Onemorenomore will be hoping the three-year-old can bounce back into contention for the Cox Plate with a strong showing in the Norman Robinson Stakes.
Saturday's race is one of the leading sideshows to the Caulfield Cup and also features Victoria Derby contender Shamoline Warrior.
Onemorenomore was a defeated favourite in the Spring Champion Stakes in Sydney, a result which seemed to dispel his chances of appearing in the October 24 Cox Plate.
But the group 3 Norman Robinson could put him back into contention if he wins with topweight of 58kg.
The Patinack Farm horse is currently on odds of 7.50 for the Norman Robinson with IASbet, while Shamoline Warrior is the current favourite at 3.80.
Another Cup distraction for Saturday is the ongoing battle for the Roy Higgins Medal, awarded to the jockey with the most race wins.
In an earlier update Melbourne Racing Club said four jockeys are currently equal on two wins after the first two days of the 2009 Caulfield Spring Racing Carnival.
Damien Oliver is joined at the top of the leader board by Dan Nikolic, Michael Rodd and Nick Hall having ridden two winners each.
