Daffodil has moved to the top of the Caulfield Cup betting markets after drawing barrier four for Saturday's $2.5 million race.

The horse is on odds of 8.00 with IASbet, with three other horses clustered around 8.50 to 9.00.

The same bookmaker currently rates Cima De Triomphe and yesterday's favourite Predatory Pricer level at 8.50. The former has drawn barrier 11 and the latter will go from barrier 16.

Godolphin stable horse Kirlees is at 9.00 with IASbet having drawn a favourable barrier seven start.

Next in the betting comes Vigor at 10.00 and running from barrier 22.

Daffodil is now the third horse to hold the favourite tag in as many days after it was revealed on Monday Speed Gifted would not be running in the 2400m race.

Predatory Pricer then hopped to the top of the markets before yesterday's barrier draw again shook up the open field.

Godolphin stable foreman Tommy Strang was delighted with the barrier draw for Kirklees, who nudged to the top of some other markets on Wednesday.

He said: "We won with barrier six last year (with All The Good) and it's only one step away. He has lots of early speed and I'm sure he won't be far behind them from there. "
