Geelong edge ahead in AFL betting for Saturday

Geelong say they are well prepared as they go into a repeat of their nail-biting 2007 AFL preliminary final match with Collingwood on Saturday.

The winner of tomorrow's tie at the MCG will book themselves a place in the grand final and AFL betting fans have so far been backing the Cats, who have shrunk to 1.38 with Sportingbet, while Collingwood are on 3.15.

Confidence appears high in the Geelong camp, with full-back Matthew Scarlett saying his side are in good shape.

He told the Cats' official website: "We've had a great week of training and we've prepared really well this year. We're very confident going into this week; it's going to be good.

"It's two great clubs battling for a spot in the grand final. It's going to be a fantastic game and the crowd's going to be massive."

However Collingwood coah Mick Malthouse has warned his players have made progress since the last time they met Geelong in round three, when they lost by a 27-point margin.

Malthouse told the Pies' official website: "What we've been able to do since round three is get a lot of games into young players and a couple of finals games.

"So I'm tipping that our player group have improved dramatically from that game three."
