The event, held in Japan, draws entrants and horse racing betting fans from across the globe. Craig Williams joins a group of seven other overseas riders who be representing their countries against Japanese riders. Williams has form, and won the series back in 2006.

Some other big names are involved in the event too, including champion English jockey Ryan Moore and Ireland's Mick Kinane. Williams has said he is happy to be representing Australia again.

Speaking to horse racing news specialist AAP, he said: "It's a great series. It's very lucrative, and very competitive." "It's a real test of jockey's skills in all kinds of races."

The series is known for its challenging courses, involving races over dirt and turf tracks. Other noted riders involved include Garrett Gomez from the United States. Williams, commenting on his appearance at the series, said that he would be attending on December 13, as part of the international meeting.
