Melbourne glory in the sights of Sydney's horse racing talent

The Melbourne weather could play a crucial role in the fate of two Sydney horses gunning for Caulfield glory on Guineas day this Saturday.

Vision And Power and Racing To Win are in the Yalumba Stakes and the Toorak Handicap, with both battling to capture their best form.

But according to Sydney jockey Hugh Bowman, conditions could play a part for Vision And Power, while Racing To Win's last performance is no real reflection of his ability.

Bowman will ride Vision And Power in the 2000m $400,000 Yalumba, and also pilot Racing To Win in the 1600m $350,000 Toorak.

Quoted by the Daily Telegraph, he said: "(Vision And Power) was winning big races in the autumn but there was some give in the tracks.

"The tracks have been too firm for him. If he can get the right track on Saturday, he's going to improve a fair bit."

Current odds see Vision And Power at 13.00 for the Yalumba with Sportsbet, with the current favourite, Whobegotyou, on 2.30 with the same bookmaker.

Sportsbet is also offering 9.50 on Racing To Win in the Toorak, with favourite Raheeb on 5.50.

Bowman also said Racing To Win would be a favourite for the Toorak if judged on his Theo Marks Stakes win, rather than a second last in the George Main Stakes last time out.
