The retirement of three Sydney players could give an added edge to the side's Saturday night AFL clash with the Brisbane Lions.

Although Sydney can't make the finals they are waving goodbye to Michael O'Loughlin, Leo Barry and Jared Crouch, which could give them extra motivation.

But the Lions are not without their own motives for the win – victory will mean they get a home AFL final.

Sydney are at 1.82 for the win with Betfair while Brisbane are at 2.16 with the same bookmaker.

A Sydney win of under 39.50 points is at 2.38 while over the same amount stands at 5.50.

And the stats book shows the Lions have not beaten the Swans in Sydney since 2003, and have lost to them only once in the last seven meetings.

Following the Swan's last round defeat to Collingwood, Adam Goodes vowed to give the retiring trio a proper send off in their final game.

He told the club website: "We've got another opportunity next week against the Lions on our home ground, and I really hope the blokes switch on and learn from what's happened today and give 110 per cent next week for four quarters.

"I know that's what I'll be aiming to do and I just hope that everyone else can do that for 'Mickey O', Leo and 'Crouchie'."
