Saturday betting round-up
Posted on October 9th 2009 by
Racing at Rosehill, Eagle Farm and Belmont Park provides added interest to Guineas Day at Caulfield on Saturday.
At Rosehill the highlights include the 1400m Franklins Supermarkets Handicap, where Faulconbridge is the favourite in 2.90 with IASbet.
Next in the betting is Centennial park, on 4.60 with the same bookmaker, but much of the attention could be on 34.00 shot Rhyno Chaser.
He is a four-year-old who won both the Dulcify Quality at 1800m and the Baillieu Handicap over 1400m last year.
Hawkesbury trainer Wanda Ings now has him under her advice after he was initially trained by Kevin Moses and then Graeme Rogerson.
His connections are hoping for a fresh outlook for the horse, who was last in the Doncaster before his previous appearance at Rosehill on September 19.
Ings, quoted by AAP, said: "His match fitness is what we have to sort out and after Saturday we'll know more about where he's at and we can make some plans hopefully."
Over at Eagle Farm Saturday's racing includes the 1200m Comscentre Quality Handicap and the 1400m Axiom Recruitment Handicap, while Belmont Park's card includes the 1400m Winning Edge Presentation.
