Seymour Cup is Sunday's racing highlight
Posted on October 18th 2009 by
The group 4 Seymour Cup is among this Sunday's racing highlights as punters celebrate or commiserate after the whirlwind of the Caulfield Cup.
The $120,000 event attracts leading trainers and jockeys from across Victoria and is part of a nine-race card for the day.
Racing Victoria lists 17 acceptances for the 1600m race including the Peter Moody-trained duo of Pillar of Hercules and Excelltastic.
Also running and likely to attract interest is Davconi, ridden by Brad Rawiller, and Mission Critical, who has two wins in the last two starts. David Hayes-trained Reprisal has been scratched.
Also appearing on Sunday is the group 4 1600m Belle of the Turf Stakes, which involves $100,000 in prize money.
The Gosford race has 15 acceptances and includes the Gai Waterhouse-trained Maybe I, ridden by Blake Shin.
Also in the running is Yesterday, trained by Peter Snowden, and Messenger, from Anthony Cummings.
Trainer Jason Coyle is also involved through the challenge of Subtle Cove, piloted by Peter Robl, and Hugh Bowman also makes an appearance aboard Patronyme.
