Tipsters divided over Caulfield Cup betting
Posted on October 16th 2009 by
Tipsters are split over who to back in the open field of the Caulfield Cup on Saturday.
Betfair's Kristen Manning and the Herald Sun's Rod Nicholson both advised each way bets with the former pointing to Kirklees and Predatory Pricer.
Nicholson, on the other hand, said Master O'Reilly was looking good thanks to his impressive run in the recent Yalumba Stakes.
The divide spreads elsewhere on the web, where Twitter users have been tweeting support for Vigor and Predatory Pricer today.
Betfair's Manning wrote: "Probably best to have a few each-way bets - you often get overs for the main chances in the major handicaps.
"I have found it an especially hard race to narrow down but feel I won't be far away with Kirklees and Predatory Pricer."
Nicholson said "we should go with Master O’Reilly ($20 each way) following a slashing run in the Yalumba Stakes" adding he looks like a good shout for the Melbourne Cup.
As of Friday afternoon Betfair had Predatory Pricer and Cima De Triomphe as joint favourites on 9.20.
Behind them on odds of 9.80 is Kirklees, level with Daffodil, with Allez Wonder at 11.50 and Vigor at 14.50.
