Whobegotyou has emerged as the clear favourite in the early betting markets for Saturday's 2000m Yalumba Stakes.

The $400,000 group 1 race has attracted only eight acceptors, but features some of Australia's best horse racing talent, including Jockey Damien Oliver, who will pilot the early favourite.

Whobegotyou is on odds of 2.50 with Centrebet, ahead of Heart Of Dreams on 3.20, followed by Vision And Power, on odds of 9.00 with the same bookmaker.

New Zealand contender Nom du Jeu is also an acceptor and will be ridden by the leading group 1 jockey from last season, Nash Rawiller.

Nom du Jeu is currently tied with Master O'Reilly on odds of 12.00, also with Centrebet.

Both Heart Of Dreams and Whobegotyou are also chances for the Cox Plate, on odds of 9.00 and 4.00 respectively.

Whobegotyou trainer Mark Kavanagh recently said his charge was in great shape as the Melbourne Spring Carnival kicked off.

"They're hard to win right (Cox Plate titles), there ain't no mortgages in that race and you'd be surprised at what pops up in the next few weeks," ABC quoted him as saying.

The Yalumba Stakes is one of the biggest races at Caulfield on Saturday after the main event of the Caulfield Guineas, and last year was won by outsider Douro Valley.
