Week 2 AFL Matches and betting odds

Brisbane v Carlton betting odds (Gabba April 1)
The Blues travel to Brisbane priced up as big outsiders for the Thursday night clash, at a best price of 3.23 with IASbet. The Lions are very strongly fancied to make it 2 wins out of 2 for the season and look banker material for this week's multi bets. Take the best odds available, 1.36 with sportsbet.

Collingwood v Melbourne betting odds (MCG April 3)
Collingwood are unbackable at the odds for what should be a stroll against a shocking Melbourne outfit. The Pies are only 1.62 to win by over 40 points. Leave this game alone for betting purposes.

St Kilda v North Melbourne betting odds (Etihad Stadium April 3)
We like The Saints this season. A lot. They struggled against Sydney last week, but should win by enough to cover the 40+ plus with Sportsbet. Take the 2.00.

West Coast v Port Adelaide betting odds (Subiaco April 3)
Port Adelaide are a best price of 2.47 to make it 2 out of 2 for the season.against West Coast in what should be a tighter game than the odds suggest. In fact, too tight to call at the odds. Pass on this game.

Adelaide v Sydney betting odds (AAMI Stadium April 4)
We like the Saints this season. So we must like the Swans performance against St Kilda in Round 1. Backing Sydney at 2.43 with Sportsbet looks value, but for added insurance let's wait and see what the handicap start will be. Then get involved.

Essendon v Fremantle betting odds (Etihad Stadium April 4)
According to the latest futures odds for AFL 2010, Essendon are 67.00 and Fremantle are 51.00. Even allowing for home advantage, Essendon should not be 1.48 for this game. Especially after shipping 125 points in Round 1. The stats and the odds say take the 2.77 on offer from IASbet for this game.

Richmond v Western Bulldogs betting odds (MCG April 4)
Another short priced team here, with the Bulldogs at 1.05 to win at The MCG. Again, far too short a proposition to get involved in from a betting perspective. Despite a reverse in Round 1, The Bulldogs remain 3rd favourites for the 2010 title.

Hawthorn v Geelong betting odds (MCG 5 April)
The class game of the week sees the Champions take on Hawthorn at The MCG. Hawthorn are a generous 2.50 with sportsbet but Geelong will be very tough to beat. We're going to take a watching brief on this one until we see the team news. Whatever happens, bet or no bet, this game will be a corker.
