AFL Odds: Crouch Ready To Pounce

February 7th, 2015 by TJ Dilfer

The young up-and-coming players are a key ingredient to any kind of success in a AFL season, and it’s well worth having a little look over the young guns who will hopefully be making an impact on those AFL odds in 2015.

One of those is likely to be Brad Crouch, who has been working hard in pre-season training at Adelaide, who’s very much enjoying being well and truly off the injury watch list, and who will be making a bid not just for a regular spot for the Crows, but at turning in the sorts of performances that will win them games, and build him a reputation to go with his abundance of talent. He had a frustrating 2014 campaign, to say the least, with an early ankle injury followed by a broken leg that kept him out of action for three months. That followed a 2013 season that saw him finish as runner-up in the Rising Star, so you can understand if he’s feeling bitter about last year. He’s ready, though, for the 2015 season, he says, and he’s pleased with how he feels, and enjoying a new intensity that has come to the Crows’ training: ‘I’m sweet at the moment, I’ve done every session so far – it’s been a little bit different to my first three pre-seasons. Now, in comparison to last season, my fitness is a lot higher. This time last season I was just starting to run again. It’s crucial, especially once the games roll around – that’s when you get the biggest benefit. It’s definitely stepped up a lot, and we’re not getting as much rest as we’ve been used to before. Hopefully that’ll be replicated in an AFL game.’

So Crouch will be hoping to make an immediate impact at Adelaide, and he could be one of the young players making an impact on those AFL odds, too – they’re all at the other end of that link there if you want to have a check through them…
