AFL: Your Odds For Saturday
June 17th, 2014 by TJ DilferThings are hotting up at the top of the ladder after 13 rounds of the AFL season, and there’s no let up for the sides that want to stay in contention for those finals spots. There will be pundits beginning to write teams off at this stage – can Collingwood hope to finish in the top four now? – but there’s plenty more footie to be played before we know for sure. We’ve got all the Round 14 odds for a busy weekend coming, and keep reading for a taster of what we’ve got our eye on…
The ladder leaders Port Adelaide kick off Saturday’s action in a game that they’ll be expecting to win, and a game that they’re overwhelming favourites to win, as well. Western need a win to keep in contact with that eighth spot, and they’ll be hoping for a big upset to heap more woe onto Power fans. Hawthorn will be hoping that the Bulldogs have done them a favour by knocking the stuffing out of the Collingwood season, leaving them easy pickings, but these things have a way of not going according to plan. It could be a wounded Pies outfit that takes on the Hawks, and that could make this a game to watch.
Gold Coast are staring into a bit of a hole if they can’t find a way to win very soon, but the Cats are hardly the side that Gary Ablett and his team-mates would have wanted to play next. Still, that’s the test ahead of them, and the bookies have this one with pretty close odds. Not unlike the Essendon – Adelaide game, which is massive for both sides: they’re both on 24 points in ninth and tenth spots, and you’d think that the side that comes up short in this one will have some disheartened fans.
Last of all there’s another trial for Brisbane fans, who see their boys – who have been hapless for most of the season – in action against Fremantle. You might not see value in the outrights for this one, but there’s always plenty more to bet on in a footie game, and you can find all the AFL odds at the end of that link.
