Harness Racing Odds: Can Sensational Gabby Make It Three?

October 23rd, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Two Friday nights, and two strong runs that brought wins to Sensational Gabby – and it’s the manner of both victories that will have been most pleasing for trainer Ross Olivieri and all of Sensational Gabby’s connections. They’ll be more pleased still if she can repeat the dose and win again at the weekend, and she’s justly right amongst the shortest Racing odds that we’ve got for you at the end of the link there.

But will Sensational Gabby be able to get in front and win it as we’ve seen her do in her last two outings? Certainly, she will face a strong challenge in Friday night’s Navy Cup, and she hasn’t got the ideal barrier draw, either. She hasn’t got a bad draw, by any means, but she’ll be going out of number 2, and the horse who is going to give her that stiff challenge will be going out of number 1: Leda McNally. In fact, reinsman Chris Voak, who will be behind Leda McNally, sounded confident that things would go his way on the night: ‘we’ve got the barrier draw and Sensational Gabby hasn’t been able to beat Leda McNally when she (Leda) has led. Sensational Gabby has beaten Leda McNally only once, and that was last Friday week. This week I’m sure that Leda McNally will jump straight to the front and that Sensational Gabby will not be able to cross her. At her latest outing Leda McNally (from barrier three) got a neck in front of Sensational Gabby out of the gate. In my opinion Leda McNally is every bit as quick as Sensational Gabby. I have driven both mares and Leda will definitely lead this week. Sensational Gabby can’t cross her. If I hand up, you will just give the race to Sensational Gabby. If we make her work and she beats Leda McNally, she’ll be the better horse on the night. If we have any chance of winning it is to lead and to make Sensational Gabby sit outside in a role that she is not as well suited to as leading.’

So get yourself ready for a fantastic tussle in store between these two classy mares, and make sure you’ve got all the Racing odds, too!
