NRL: $1.55 Odds For Rabbitohs, Bulldogs $1.65

March 10th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

The NRL is off to a great start, with the pace of the action up, some compelling games involving more than the usual number of powerful comebacks, and a couple of results that shake things up early on. The only thing that we weren’t altogether happy with in the first round was the number of empty seats we could see on our tv screens (but we were by no means the only people watching those empty seats from our sofa, and that could be the extent of the problem…).

Sluggish attendance aside, it was an exciting start for Manly, if not the result they would have been looking for. Beaten by long-term antagonists Melbourne Storm in a game that could easily have gone their way (and perhaps should have after they pulled ahead), there was still plenty for Manly to take away with them. They might be wishing they’d come away with that all-important win by the end of Friday night, though, because they face a strong Rabbitohs outfit who are the $1.55 favourites to beat them. Manly are a $2.35 bet on Sportsbet right now.

We’ll cover the weekend’s games elsewhere, but they are bracketed by that Manly-Rabbitohs game on Friday and a clash between the Sharks and the Bulldogs on Monday evening. Canterbury were as combative as we’ve come to expect, and they went down in a hard-fought game against Brisbane that they would dearly have liked to win, given the move by Ben Barba to the Broncos between seasons. They would have liked it to be someone else who was the difference between the sides, too. But it wasn’t to be. And so they’ll be keen to make the most of those $1.65 odds against the Sharks when they play them on Monday 17th. They’ll be watching, then, when the Sharks run out against the Titans tonight – the Sharks are $1.80 favourites against the Titans tonight, but they’re a $2.15 bet for the game against Canterbury on the 17th. Will those odds change after the result? Make sure you check back in at Sportsbet to get all the odds you need – there’s a great refund offer for you to take advantage of, too…
