NRL: All The Odds For The Start Of Round Seven

April 15th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

You’ve got three games in store for Friday night, and there are some real box-office match-ups in the mix to kick off Round Seven! Get all your odds for Round Seven by following that link, and keep on reading for our short previews of three NRL games that we’ll be setting the old telly-box to recording…

First up the Rabbitohs try to keep their run of form going against Canterbury-Bankstown, and this could be a good gauge of where the Sydney side really are at in the 2014 season. South Sydney go into the game with George Burgess and Ben Te’o both suspended, but they’re still the $1.80 favourites. The Bulldogs might well be motivated to show that they are by no means underdogs going into this one, though – they’re sitting in second spot on the ladder and on the back of three good wins, so maybe they’re worth a bet at $2.02?

Then there are two games, both kicking off at twenty to eight, that we’ll be keeping an eye on. The Cowboys insist their preparation hasn’t been unduly affected by the cyclone that saw them stranded away from home for a day or so, but there’s no denying they’re in the middle of a testing run. They couldn’t get the result they wanted against the Tigers last week, and they go into this week’s clash with the Sea Eagles as the $3.05 outsiders. And that’s probably a fair reflection of where these two sides stand at the moment: Manly have put together some good form, and there’s only one defeat in their past month or so – also to the Tigers, as it happens – to reflect on. Expect them to want to keep the pressure on at the top with a win at $1.38. The Broncos will be looking to put a couple of disappointing weeks behind them when they take on the Knights, but they go in with the odds against them at $2.25. They’re currently five spots behind the Broncos on the ladder, but at $1.65, the Knights will be hoping that’s changed when the dust settles after Round Seven…
