NRL Odds: A Big Weekend In Store

July 30th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

As ever, there’s plenty to look forward to for NRL fans this weekend, with another key round of fixtures unfolding over the course of four days. We’ve already had a look at the appetisers scheduled for Friday night, and there’s plenty to whet the appetite for what’s to follow: key games for the teams at the top, the teams at the foot of the ladder, and for the teams in that almighty battle for the finals spots – so get all the Round 21 odds now by following the link!

The highlight on Saturday could well be the clash between the Dragons and the Roosters. The Dragons won their last run out against Wests Tigers, their neighbours on the ladder, whilst the Roosters were on the wrong end of a result against the Knights. If the Sydney side are serious about finding form ahead of the finals, and if they’re going to stay out of the scrap brewing below them on the ladder, then they’ll need to win against the Dragons. The St George Illawarra players, meanwhile, will know that a win potentially lifts them out of the scrap for the last of the finals, and that’s some pretty strong motivation for them…

Then on Sunday the Warriors are back in action after a cracking game against ladder-leaders Manly in Round 20, and looking to take points from the Raiders, who look like their hopes of finals rugby have been and gone for 2014. Just because they’re second-to-bottom on the ladder, though, doesn’t mean they won’t want to hurt the kiwis, and if the Warriors are going to get up into the finals spots, then this is a must-win game for them, which brings its own pressure. Elsewhere the Knights will be looking to repeat their success from Round 20 against the Rabbitohs on Sunday, while the Sydneysiders need to win to keep the Sea Eagles in reach. Then, on Monday the Storm and the Tigers clash in a game that could be vital for both of them: they’re both very much in the mix for the finals spots, and the Storm have a slender advantage over the teams below them that they need to maintain.
