NRL Odds: The Roosters Meet The Rabbitohs Again

September 24th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

What a pair of semi-finals! We’ve been saying that this season’s NRL could go right down to the wire, and games just don’t get much closer than either of the two semi-finals we saw this weekend gone. With both games in the same weekend, there will have been some strained hearts all around the country, and two sets of fans still walking on air after the weekend. They’ll be looking ahead to the preliminary finals, too, and sizing up the NRL odds for another pair of games that could go to the wire…

First off is a real blockbuster of a preliminary final between the Roosters and the Rabbitohs. Here’s an epic modern rivalry that’s shaping up to be even better each time the two sides clash – and this game isn’t likely to be the exception. What it will be is huge.

But who’s your money on? The bookies have the Rabbitohs as $1.75 favourites, and they have had the better of the head-to-head clashes with their near neighbours in recent years. But Roosters fans will point to their side’s incredible success in the last decade, and consider themselves to be the bigger club, just ready to brush their irritating neighbours aside on the way to another Premiership. It’s difficult to overstate how much that would hurt the Rabbitohs, and they will be determined to be the ones celebrating in Sydney come the final whistle. Both sides have shown brilliance on the way to Friday’s preliminary finals, and both sides have shown some frailties. We’re having a hard time picking this one, so we might have to have a look through all the NRL odds at the end of that link for betting markets and more to add spice to what is already going to be a thriller!
