NRL: Rabbitohs and Broncos Both Getting $1.70 Odds

We’ve seen some incredibly tight games so far this season, with swings in the last play let alone inside the last few minutes, and the ladder doesn’t look like anyone predicted before the start of the season: the Titans are sitting at the top, but with a negative points tally beside their names – they’ll be looking to still be there on Saturday morning, and the points difference won’t bother them at all if they can get a win out of Friday night’s game against the Broncos. That’ll be a tough ask, of course, but you can’t say the Titans haven’t done well in adversity in 2014. The Broncos will go into Friday night’s game with the more settled side, and they are the $1.70 favourites to win it, but no matter how many times we check to make sure, the Titans are still topping the ladder at the start of Round Six, and that has to count for something: we’re tempted to back them at $2.20…
Before the Titans and the Broncos run out on Friday night, the Panthers and the Rabbitohs are in action in a game that the Sydney side will feel under pressure to come out of with a win. The Panthers have seen a lot of column inches devoted to their off-field accomplishments (are we the only ones still thinking carefully about their cheerleaders?), but things on the field, while patchy, aren’t going too badly at all. The Rabbitohs, meanwhile, are already in danger of misfiring at this early stage in the season, and they will be hoping that a win in Round Five over the Dragons has given them the momentum they need to make a drive back up the ladder. At Sportsbet right now, you’ll get $2.20 for Penrith, but it’s the Rabbitohs who are the $1.70 favourites.
