Where Are Your Bets For State of Origin?

May 29th, 2013 by admin

There’s a couple of names still in pencil on the team sheets for next Wednesday’s State of Origin opener, and Queensland coach Mal Meninga will be hoping that Darius Boyd’s ankle will be strong enough to let him take the field. But who are you backing to take the first game?

Everything we’re seeing in the odds points to a close-run thing, which is great for the fans, but not great if you’re looking to place a canny bet or two! The handicap line gives NSW a point and a half, and you’ll get $2.00 on them to overcome that and take the first game (the Maroons are at $1.83). The winning margin odds look like this: the shortest bet is on Queensland to take the game by 6-10 points ($6.00), but you’ll get $6.50 for either side to squeak it by less than 6. The draw stands at $23.00, and on your alternative points margin bets, you’ll get $3.20 for Queensland by 10 or less, and $3.50 for NSW to take it by the same. We wouldn’t want to have to call it, it’s that close!
