Colt out for first win in Sandown Guineas
Posted on November 14th 2009 by
A promising colt could finally break his winning duck on Saturday when he runs in the group 2 Sandown Guineas.
Silver Spur is in his first campaign and has raced three times, ending up in the placings each time but so far failing to find a win.
Racing and Sports reports his last performance was in the Listed Hilton Stakes over 1400m on Emirates day when he ended up second to It'llbefantastic.
Trainer Paul Messara will be hoping Silver Spur can break his maiden status, although the bookmakers only rate him a 13.00 chance.
Centrebet has Kidnapped as the firm favourite for the race, on 2.55, down from 2.60, although It'llbefantastic, who beat Silver Spur last up, is at 16.00.
Other movements in the market for the Guineas include a drift for Khas Kura, who has gone from 4.40 to 4.85.
Majestic Music stays on 5.00, while Disco Summit is third in the betting on 9.00.
Turf Express is just above Silver Spur at 12.00, with Absolute Soda at 15.00, down from 18.00.
The big outsider is Flame Thrower, who is on odds of 201.00.
