New Zealand's two chances in Saturday's Cox Plate are attracting big odds in the online betting markets, with one facing fitness problems.

Sir Slick has been the rank outsider with most bookmakers this week, and needs to overcome a hoof injury.

Officials will assess him at 7am on Saturday morning before deciding whether or not he can take part in the race.

Nom Du Jeu, trained by Murray Baker, will also face a stiff challenge to upset the natives, with current favourite Whobegotyou on odds of 2.90 with IASbet.

In comparison, Nom Du Jeu is at 81.00 with the same bookmaker, and Sir Slick is at 151.00, having at one time been out at more than 200.00.

The $3 million group 1 event at Moonee Valley looks set to be basked in sunshine, with the latest forecasts predicting Melbourne temperatures of more than 20 degrees.

Punters have continued to warm to second favourite Heart Of Dreams in the last 24 hours, with IASbet now offering odds of 6.00.

Other recent movers include So You Think, trained by Bart Cummings, and standing on 11.00 with the same bookmaker, having been around 13.00 earlier in the week.
