Sniper's Bullet will be aiming for the front

Sniper's Bullet could run a bold and direct tactical race in tomorrow's $1 million Railway Stakes, according to reports.

Trainer Tracey Bartley is to tell Nash Rawiller to ride the horse aggressively to get round an awkward barrier 14 at Ascot, the Courier Mail said.

The horse headed west after four starts in Sydney and Melbourne over the Spring, with no wins but eye-catching performances in each.

Bookmakers have had Gold Salute as the favourite all week after punters backed him heavily in early markets, with Sportsbet rating him at 3.20.

Sniper's Bullet is one of a clutch of runners around 9.00 to 15.00 and is at 14.00 with the same bookmaker.

Quoted by the Courier Mail, Bartley said: "He has settled in really well since he came over from Melbourne a fortnight ago.

"I think he is going just as well as last year."

In 2008 Sniper's Bullet was seen as unfortunate not to clinch the Railway, ending up second to Glided Venom.
