So You Think to appear in racing carnival finale

Saturday's 1600m Emirates Stakes at Flemington will feature Cox Plate winner So You Think as Bart Cummings bids for a sweetener after failing to land his 13th Melbourne Cup.

The three-year-old stormed to a surprise win in the Plate and Cummings has said he should feature this weekend after being rested from the Mackinnon Stakes.

So You Think has only raced five times but has impressed on each occasion, emerging as another promising horse honed by Cummings' expertise.

Elsewhere, Jockey Chris Munce will not be riding in the Emirates after he was handed a suspension after officials ruled that he forced a run on his mount Sikka who was squeezed between Kimberley Kid and One Lickety Split in the Parramatta RSL Handicap at Rosehill.

Saturday's traditional end to the spring carnival could see So You Think among the favourites with Sir Slick also a possible contender.

However, Racing Victoria stewards deemed Sir Slick lame after the Mackinnon Stakes, although trainer Graeme Nicholson insisted he was fine and would appear on Saturday.

Also on Saturday is the group 1 $500,000 The Age Classic, over 1200m, while Flemington will also host the group 2 $300,000 Matriach Stakes over 2000m.
