Last year's runner-up Zipping is among the horses who have seen their Cox Plate odds shorten in the last two days.

The Lloyd Williams-owned veteran is on 17.00 with Sportsbet, having been on 21.00 earlier in the week.

He is now the only horse in the race to have finished among the placings in last year's version of the the 2040m event at Moonee Valley.

Zipping was the runner-up to Maldivian in the 2008 event, with last year's winner now laid up for the spring due to injury.

Sportsbet Australia chief executive Michael Sullivan said: "Zipping's run in the Cox Plate was enormous last year and with him being the only survivor from the placegetters from last year, punters have stepped in.

"We took bets of $60,000 to $2500, $20,000 to $1000 and a number of other good sized bets as the price trimmed up to $16.

"He has shown enough this time in to suggest he will run a big race and the stable knows how to get them ready for the big races."

Sportsbet has Whobegotyou as the favourite for Saturday's race, on odds of 2.70, with Heart Of Dreams second favourite at 7.50.
