Caulfield Cup Racing Odds: Gris Garo Earns His Ticket

September 26th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

French import Gris Garo will be in the Racing odds for the 2014 Caulfield cup after a run in the Naturalism Stakes saw him earn a place in the race on October 18th. Gris Garo came home ahead of Entirely Platinum to win the at Caulfield at the weekend, earning himself an automatic qualification to the Caulfield Cup come October.

Trainer Jake Stephens was understandably a pleased man when Gris Garo scored the victory – he’s a horse who had been bought and brought to Australia with these sorts of races in mind, and Stephens himself will be hoping for a repeat of the Melbourne Spring success he found with Alcopop in 2009: ‘I think he has got more improvement in him. I only rated him about ninety-five per cent for this one. We will have to have a look, only one race at a time. We will decide. Last start we knew he would come on a lot. The trip over and he’s been a handful out the back. We sort of knew that he was going to run well with that draw and everything else. A great ride and the horse was travelling on the bend. I think he has actually got more improvement in him. Ihat’s exciting, to have another crack at it (the Caulfield Cup). Hopefully there’s no Dunaden to run over the top of us.’

So make sure you’ve got all the Racing odds you need for the 2014 Caulfield Cup, which will now be circled in Jake Stephens’ calendar as a run for Gris Garo
