And Prince of Penzance wasn’t the only horse to catch the eye of Carpenter, who imposed penalties on Big Memory, Caravan Rolls On and Gris Caro after a busy weekend of Racing. This close to The Race That Stops A Nation, there are a few races that will buy horses their ticket straight to the biggest show in Australian Racing, but if you can’t bag yourself one of those and a trip straight to the Melbourne Cup jump-off, then the next best thing is to make as strong a case for yourself as you can by putting in the big performances. That’s exactly what we’ve seen those four horses do over the weekend, and whilst a look at the Racing odds for the Melbourne Cup on November 4th will show you that only Caravan Rolls On and Big Memory are looking odds-on for a run on race day, there’s still time for things to change.
