Melbourne Spring Odds: Azkadellia On Target In Carbine

November 1st, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Punters seem to know what they want in the 2014 Carbine Club Stakes that’s looming at Flemington this weekend – by far the majority of the backing has been thrown behind the favourite Azkadellia, and you can see from a look at the Racing odds at the end of the link there that he’s at some pretty short odds of $3.60 as of right now on Sportsbet. If you’re looking to go elsewhere for the Carbine Stakes, then you’ll want to have a little look at the second line, which has Kermadec and Wandjina on it. We’d have thought that Gai Waterhouse-trained Wandjina might be worth a close look at odds of $8.50, and Kermadec is between him and the favourite Azkadellia at $6.00.

Meanwhile, in the Lexus Stakes that’ll also be jumping off at Flemington on Saturday, punters have been just as decisive, if not more so. According to Sportsbet, more than half the money wagered on the race has gone behind Shoreham, who’s a $21.00 bet to win it. The favourite is Signoff, who’s getting pretty short odds of $2.65 on Sportsbet right now. Maybe the bookies know something that the punters don’t or maybe it’s the other way around, but it will be interesting to see how this one plays out. The Lexus Stakes is also a great chance to see a couple of Melbourne Cup hopefuls in action: Caravan Rolls On and La Amistad are both in the mix, and either one could have a real say in the race.

So make sure you’ve got all the Racing odds for a busy day’s Racing at Flemington and elsewhere, and check back in with us for more news ahead of the Melbourne Cup on Tuesday!
