More Than Sacred has seen her fair share of success of the course of her career, but she struggled in the heavy going in the 2013 Autumn Season. Since then, she’s had nine starts over more than a year, and recorded a couple of wins amongst those. She has pedigree, too, in her record – she’s a New Zealand Oaks winner – that makes her something of a prospect. Much will depend on how her preparation goes, we imagine, but trainer Robert Smerdon will want her to collect some Melbourne Spring laurels if she can: ‘with the timing, the opportunity is there to have a spring preparation so we’ll see how she comes up. If she comes up well enough, she’ll be heading towards the Cups.’
