Scenic Shot emerges as Sandown Classic betting favourite

The final field for Saturday's group 2 Sandown Classic has been announced, with Scenic Shot at the top of the early betting markets.

IASbet has the Mackinnon Stakes winner on 3.50, after it was revealed Shane Scriven would pilot the horse after all following his appeal of a suspension order.

The favourite is in barrier one for the 2400m run, with nothing separating the odds of second favourites Master O'Reilly and Zipping, who are both on 5.00.

Zipping, who is going for a third win in the race, will go from barrier 10, while Kiwi Master O'Reilly goes from five.

Third in the betting is mare Purple at 7.50, with Mark Kavanagh-trained Raffaello close behind on 8.00, with question marks looming over whether or not the horse can handle a step-up in distance.

Also in the mix are quality mares Zarita, at 13.00 and Miss Maren, who at 12.00 completes a relatively tight field.

Odds are also on the move at IASbet for the Sandown Guineas, also appearing on Saturday and run over 1600m.

Kidnapped has emerged the favourite as expected, on 2.60, with Khas Kura next on 4.00, already up from 3.70.
