Chelsea firm favourites in Premier League betting

 Chelsea remain at the top of English Premier League betting markets with 13 games of the season played, as their major rivals begin to drift.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are at 1.80 to lift the title with Centrebet, while Arsenal and Manchester United now occupy joint second favourite spot at 4.33.

Holders United have seen their form slip of late, largely due to injuries affecting their backline, with key centre halves Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic both enduring periods on the sidelines.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have appeared to grow as the season has taken shape, with midfielders Cesc Fabregas and Andrei Arshavin both in good form.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have been the big disappointment for punters - looking out of the race already due to a poor start and thin squad.

Centrebet now rates them at 26.00, level with Manchester City, after injuries hit key players Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.

Chelsea manager Ancelotti will have to decide whether to dip into the transfer market in January, but has said: "We have time to look for players, we don't want to take a decision at the moment. At the moment, I am very happy with this squad and these players."
