AFL Odds: Will New Ticket Policy Mean Bigger Crowds?

December 24th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

There’s no doubt we still love a game of footie, but there were rumblings all the way through last season from fans in all corners of the country, and from the AFL Fans Association, about the unnecessary difficulty of just getting hold of tickets to watch AFL games, especially for big matches. That suggests to us that people were wanting to get down to the games, but that they were put off by the difficulty – we certainly wouldn’t put the drop-off in attendance down to a lack of fans, especially given the success of online betting sites, and the sheer volume of people checking out those AFL odds each and every week.

And it seems like Read the rest of this entry »

NRL Odds: Crowe Challenges Warriors

December 24th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

The Rabbitohs have been nothing short of a powerhouse in recent years. Take a look at the NRL odds we’ve got for you, and you’ll see that once again they’re short odds to make 2015 a winning season. And there are no signs at all of them being anything other than perennial contenders for the years to come – everything looks to be in place to keep the Rabbitohs not just ticking over nicely, but continuing to improve and to push the teams around them (and so often below them) to be better, too.

So, in the light of that success, you’d say that Russell Crowe, the man behind the Rabbitohs, is Read the rest of this entry »

Cricket Odds: The Oldies Are Golden

December 24th, 2014 by G Waldorf

You could be forgiven for thinking that the shortest form of the game was a young man’s game – it’s still pretty new, and it’s where we’re seeing all sorts of innovation both with bat and ball. It’s not really a place to hide anyone in the field, either, but a look at the Cricket odds we’ve got for you will reveal that the online bookies think there are some ‘experienced’ players set to make an impact in this year’s Big Bash season.

AFL Odds: Dane Swan Looks Back

December 24th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

It’s quite common to see AFL players offering their opinions of rival players and teams, and you probably wouldn’t take too much notice of that criticism – because it’s very often criticism, and not a lot of it constructive, either – when you’re looking over the AFL odds we’ve got for you at this early stage at the other end of the link there. But when a player like Dane Swan offers a refreshingly honest appraisal of his own work for Collingwood over the 2014 season – and makes a commitment at the same time to Read the rest of this entry »

NRL Odds: Veterans In To Fire Dragons

December 23rd, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

If you care to have a look over the NRL odds for the 2015 season, you’ll see that the Dragons are by no means the bookies’ favourites to reach the finals, let alone claim the premiership. But that doesn’t mean that the players and coaches at St George Illawarra – not to mention the fans – won’t have ambitions of making next season a successful one. And that means Read the rest of this entry »

AFL Odds: Cameron Wants Giant Strides

December 19th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

The Giants won six games last season, and they wound up a couple of spots clear of the foot of the ladder. For the 2015 season, the AFL odds at the other end of that link will tell you that they’re a long outside chance to at odds of $101.00 to win the premiership, but a decent-looking $7.00 to sneak into the top eight come the final day of the regular season. It would be their first taste of finals footie, and there’s little doubt that their players – and their fans, of course – will be hungry for that success. But can they make the step up?

There were genuine signs in 2014. The current crop of GWS players are Read the rest of this entry »

NRL Odds: Bellamy Sanguine Over Storm Schedule

December 19th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

You might have seen some mention of the Storm fixture list for the 2015 NRL season in the press over the past few days. We’ve certainly seen some negative reactions from Storm fans, though it has to be said there hasn’t been too much movement in the NRL odds this far out from the first round: the Storm are at odds of $12.00, and you’re welcome to make up your own mind whether you think that represents value or not…

AFL Odds: Further Injury Woes For Reid

December 19th, 2014 by TJ Dilfer

As the AFL season starts to roll around again, and whilst the players look to prepare themselves for a long, gruelling season and the fans and punters start to assess the AFL odds for a fresh campaign, Collingwood, like every other franchise in the AFL, will be working hard to make sure that their players are coming to the 2015 season in the best possible shape.

So there will be a great deal of frustration and disappointment amongst fans when they hear about Read the rest of this entry »
