Melbourne Cup Odds and Tips: Dandino Confirmed
October 23rd, 2013 by Pom de TurfThere were some doubts before the final decision, with concerns over the distance apparently playing on his trainers’ minds before they decided to take the plunge, but Dandino is confirmed for the Melbourne Cup on November 5th.
It’s a decision that must have been influenced by a great run in the Caulfield Cup – and a feeling that a different barrier draw might well have seen Dandino win the Caulfield, and be lining up an historic double. As it stands, though, it’s Fawkner’s owners who will be dreaming of the double, and, come Cup day, it will be Dandino with a point to prove. At the moment on Sportsbet, Dandino is second favourite at $9.00 behind the $6.50 favourite Fiorente, where Fawkner is a $21.00 bet. After such a good run in the Caulfield Cup by Fawkner, though, we might be tempted by those odds…
