Melbourne Cup Odds and Tips: Green Moon Out of Caulfield Cup

It remains to be seen what effect the withdrawals will have on the preparations of all three horses for the Melbourne Cup on November 5th. There was some talk last week of ill health worries surrounding Green Moon, and it could be just caution keeping last year’s Melbourne Cup winner out of the Caulfield, but it does mean that he’ll have that much less form going into November. At the moment, Fawkner is sitting at $51.00 for the Melbourne Cup, along with a raft of other horses on the same odds – including Red Cadeaux and Foreteller – and what his Caulfield Cup run will do to those odds, we’ll see after the weekend. Sea Moon is a $17.00 bet for the Cup on Sportsbet as of today, while Green Moon is being given $34.00 to win back-to-back Melbourne Cups and seal a place in the history books.
