Fights like this one are the reason we tune into the UFC Fight Nights with so much enthusiasm. Both T.J. Dillashaw and Mike Easton will be desperate for a win when they get into the Octagon on the 16th. Both of them are young guys with bags of potential who will be eager to make their places in the franchise secure by stringing together a good long series of wins: starting with the Fight Night on January 16th. And both have been deservedly involved in ‘Fight of the Night’ bouts in the past – so you can fully expect this one to be a thriller that’s in the running for the accolades again.

And it could be a tighter fight than the odds you can see suggest. Easton might represent value at $3.03: he a dynamic, athletic fighter who will take real bounce with him into the Octagon, and who will make life very hard for Dillashaw. Certainly, Dillashaw will find it hard to finish the fight if it stays off the mat, but instead, the longer it goes, the more he will look to find takedowns, and that will tell in his favour on the scorecard – assuming he can pull them off. It could be that Easton’s grappling is good enough to get him out of trouble if Dillashaw puts him in it, but all those takedowns will add up, and that’s why Dillashaw is the favourite...
