August 27th, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Messene is another horse who has had their plans changed as a result of the wet weather – he was intended for the Warwick Stakes, but the heavy going put paid to that plan, and the Hawkes brothers have decided to give him a go in the Memsie Stakes at the weekend. There will be plenty of punters with an eye out for how he goes, too, because he’s likely to be a fixture of those Racing odds for the Melbourne Spring…

August 22nd, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Whilst it’s shaping up to be as exciting a Melbourne Spring as we’re all hoping for, there is a note of disappointment this week at the news that French import Tres Blue won’t be involved – an injury to his left foreleg has ruled him out of the whole Spring Racing Festival, and he won’t feature at all in those Racing odds between now and the Melbourne Cup in Read the rest of this entry »

Melbourne Cup Racing Odds: Myer Classic For Politeness

August 21st, 2014 by Pom de Turf

Look out for exciting 4-year-old Politeness in the 2014 Myer Classic: according to trainer Robert Smerdon her Spring Season will culminate in a run at Flemington on November 1st. Politeness hadn’t had a run out since April, when she came home as a winner in the P.J. Bell Stakes. A barrier trial last week at Randwick – one that was a gentle run out, but that seemed to go well – has left Smerdon in good spirits, too, as the Melbourne Spring looms: ‘she had a Read the rest of this entry »
